Key Verse:  Colossians 1:10 says "And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God"

Purpose Statement:  We exist for the purpose of praising God and serving Him by teaching women that they are worthy of God's love and grace, and out of the overflow of that grace, we will love and serve our community together.

2010 has been an exciting year in Women’s Ministry at Brookwood Baptist Church! 

Here are some of the events we have already been involved in so far this year:

• Hosted a baby shower for the Crisis Pregnancy Resource Center in Gwinnett County

• Attended the EWomen’s Conference in Greenville, South Carolina in April
• Had a church-wide yard sale in June and raised over $900 to go toward mission projects.
• Coordinated a Community Service Week where 57 people participated.
• Provided meals for the volunteers who work with our annual Medical/Dental Clinic
• Provided 20 book bags filled with school supplies to Berkmar Middle School

 We still have some great events ahead and we hope you will be a part of them:

 

• This year we are excited about offering some seminars on issues that women face. August 15 – October 24^th we will be hosting "Stretch Your Dollar" - budget living seminars - on Sunday nights from 6 – 7 PM.  Topics will include how to help your child succeed in school, couponing strategies, how to prepare budget meals, how to dress for less, gardening tips, how to decorate on a shoestring and how to make inexpensive gifts.
• September 24-26 is the Fall Beach Retreat in Ocean Isle, North Carolina.  The theme is “Splash the Living Water.”  The cost is $40 plus some meal expense.  Registration deadline is August 15^th.
• December 11^th we will host a free holiday event from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the Children’s Theater.  There will be demonstrations on holiday crafts, table decorations, edible arrangements and food preparation.  There will also be a silent auction with all proceeds going to help needy families at Christmas.
• We will be offering several Bible studies in the fall.  Please check out our church calendar for times and places.
